The concept of entrepreneurship has kick-started many young minds and given birth to thousands of vibrant ideas. The year 2012 has seen the growth and onset of some new companies, many of which are hiring at a remarkable rate. Some young businessmen have taken existing companies to new heights.
CNN Money has listed out seven brilliant new climbers who are the real "job creators" and are ready to sway the business world.
1. Flipkart.com
Flipkart is an e-commerce website that initially sold books. Founded in 2007, by Sachin and Binny Bansal, former employees of Amazon.com, the e-commerce site has now diversified its services to become the largest e-commerce site in India. In 2011, Flipkart sold goods worth $100 million last year and has a target of reaching $1 billion sales by 2015. It has hired around 2000 new employees and is looking forward to hiring 5000 more employees in the coming year.
2. Momofuku
Momofuku was founded by David Chang in 2004, a now flourishing global restaurant chain. Chang opened his first restaurant in a small foodie neighborhood in New York, which quickly gained enough popularity for him to open up six restaurants and bars throughout the city. His restaurants specialize in every form of culinary delights. Chang opened a franchisee in Sydney, Australia in 2011 and the Toronto branch made its debut this September. Chang is expected to hire around 25 to 50 more employees aboard the franchisees.
3. San Francisco 49ers
In 2011, Jed York, CEO of San Francisco 49ers, the legendary American football team, spiked up the hiring regime by adding around 1000 construction jobs. The hiring drive is attributed to the construction and completion of the Santa Clara stadium in San Francisco. The stadium will sport better and bigger screens, lesser seats but more fancy club ones with larger square footage and Wi-Fi as well. In addition to the construction jobs, York has also hired around 60 employees and is looking forward to employing 10 more full time workers, reported CNN Money.
4. IndiGo
IndiGo airlines, a popular airline in India, took off in 2008 and hired Aditya Ghosh, a lawyer, to take over as president. The airline has recently launched international flights and has been experiencing a profitable phase now. The company generated around 2500 jobs last year and is geared up to welcome 1000 more employees in the coming year.
5. Wildfire
Wildfire, founded by Victoria Ransom, is her third endeavor at startups. Wildfire offers tools to organizations and companies to manage their social media marketing activities. These services are in high demand and she is expected to grow at a fast pace in the coming year. Wildfire hired 250 employees and as the company grows, more opportunities from the company will surface in the coming year.
6. GREE
GREE is one of the most popular social networking sites in Japan. It also creates mobile social games. Founded by Yoshikazu Tanaka, the website is expected to shell out revenue of $2 billion in 2012. The company hired more than 1000 new employees last year and has plans of hiring many more as Tanaka has plans of diversifying its base.
7. Zillow
Zillow is an online real estate and marketplace firm. Zillow is popular for its mobile app that lets around 37 million active consumers to access information about 110 million houses on the go. The company hired around 275 employees last year.
These companies will probably hire more number of people as their growth chart is extremely impressive.
