Ellen DeGeneres Charity Celebrates Newly Rebuilt Learning Center In Guadalupe Despite Divorce Rumors With Portia De Rossi

Ellen Degeneres is busy celebrating her charities and rebuilding schools like the learning center in Guadalupe. The "Ellen Show" host continues to help people despite unconfirmed divorce rumors circulating.

The Mary Buren Elementary School was hit by a terrible storm over a year ago, but now the school has dramatically changed after being helped by Ellen Degeneres' charity. On Friday, the school in Guadalupe celebrated the opening of one of their new wings. In honor of the person who helped them in their biggest educational challenges, the school named it the "Ellen DeGeneres Learning Center."

Principal Jesely Alvarez described the new center as having a storybook feel. The learing center is an improved library and it's quite different from the library it used to be. The $140,000 renovation project has been funded by donations from Ellen DeGeneres and Target which amounted to $100,000 plus multiple donations from local and international sources. Last year, the funding came as a surprise after the funny comedienne showed up and announced her donation to the school. In addition to the renovation, the school was able to purchase new shelves, tables, furniture and a state of the art TV for their stage.

Principal Alvarez and the school is thankful for Ellen DeGeneres' charity. So much so that the students are quite excited to go to school. "It makes me feel great that we get to read new books and look at new stuff. The most specific thing I like about the new library and stage is the tree," said 4th grader Xitlali Bravo.

Despite her personal problems in life being surrounded with divorce speculations. Ellen DeGeneres has been devoted to making people smile especially on her show "Ellen." She has been awarded because of her good deeds and always advices people to "be kind to one another."
