7-Eleven Bring Your Own Cup Day – Bigger ‘Cups’ This Week

7-Eleven has just made the craziest promotion this week with its 'Bring Your Own Cup Day.' With this promo, customers can bring their own cups, and it doesn't matter if they are really water buckets or fish bowls, the store will fill them up with the company's very tasty Slurpee.

7-Eleven is hosting its second anniversary of 'Bring Your Own Cup Day' and it will start on Friday, Mar. 18 and end on Saturday, Mar. 19. The promo will be available from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Officials of the convenience store are expecting that this will be bigger than last year's celebration since the promo days coincide with Slurpee's 50th birthday.

The convenience store gives more leeway to Slurpee lovers by allowing the qualifying cups to include buckets, water containers, huge glass jars, and nearly anything that is used to hold water.

Customers will only pay $1.50 for every 'cup' filled.

But the company is following certain rules that govern the Slurpee promo.

  • Containers must be upright and can fit through the in-store display hole which has a diameter of 10 inches.
  • Containers must be clean to avoid bacterial and virus contamination.
  • Leaks must be plugged to keep the containers watertight.
  • Only one container per person will be allowed, although Slurpee is for everyone.

To help keep the Slurpee second anniversary more customer-extensive and exciting, 7-Eleven is asking all its patrons to show off their creative and unique cups by tagging their pictures #BYOCupDay on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The BYO Cup Day was a smashing success last year, and the company is pulling out all the stops to make this year's celebration a bigger success.

"It was crazy popular," said Teresa Rathjen, 7-Eleven general manager at Euclid and Salzburg avenues in Bay City.

"For the most creative, there was a girl at our store who carved out a watermelon and filled it up with a Slurpee. And then there was the guy who brought in a mailbox," she exclaimed.
