Department of Defense Provides Tuition Assistance To Learn Job Skills

Recently, a greater emphasis on career development and training is being pushed by the United States Department of Defense. In the next few months, the DoD is rolling out career trainings that will help troops become more employable after serving the military.

Talk about a good way to welcome the troopers home. The Department of Defense's voluntary education officials highlights opportunities for the troops to earn academic certificates with the use of miliatry tuition assistance. This short term method can be appealing to the military service members who are looking to build on their skills outside of the military. It is also appealing for those who are unable to complete a whole degree.

The SOC or the Servicemembers Opportunitiy Colleges, is an organization that is tasked to identify certificate programs of value in high-growth job fields. The SOC will be heading the career development and training of these troops, as reported by Military Times. The SOC is also a branch of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities that has organized to facilitate military credit acceptance and transferability under a DoD contract.
