Facebook Live: A Growing Powerful Service For Streaming Live Contents

Facebook Live came in a perfect time to present its opportunities to the media world that has quickly become a platform for real-time storytelling and journalism.

According to BusinessInsider, live streaming focuses on giant tech companies such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Snapchat to adopt their own live service platforms by investing a great deal of money into it.

Where As Twitter's Periscope and Meerkat only came to show that live streaming has become a potential success, leading other giant tech companies into building their own platforms.

Looking at Facebook Live now, allowed other broadcasters such as NPR, The Washington Post and TMZ to take use of its service to present content in a live context.

According to Poynter, Facebook's News Feed gives importance to live streaming which brings in a broad audience. However, Facebook doesn't give chance to publishers to utilize the live streams to generate any profit, meaning even a great number of audience coming in, it isn't producing any revenue.

Director of product at Facebook, Fidji Simo, said, "It's early days, and as with all products at Facebook we build people first, but we are committed to finding a sustainable monetization model for partners sharing live video on Facebook. It's something that we're thinking carefully about, and it's important to us to create something that is a good experience for people on Facebook and that works for our partners."
