Facebook Will Let You Buy Your Concert Tickets On Event Pages

Pretty soon, you will be able to buy your Beyonce concert tickets directly on Facebook through Ticketmaster. That means you won't go to the trouble of accessing the ticket outlets just to buy your concert pass.

BuzzFeed reported that this latest feature of the social media giant is to be unveiled at the end of April. This news came out just ahead of the company's F8 Developer Conference.

It is not only in Facebook's events or artists pages that you can purchase tickets. You can also do it on M, its Messenger's assistant.

By using the social media giant's user interface, Ticketmaster will ease off the hassles of customers in lining up just to buy concert tickets for their favorite performers. The new "Buy Tickets" feature in the event pages will enable users to buy directly from Ticketmaster without being redirected to another app or site.

"By putting the ability to buy tickets directly within Facebook we hope that we're going to provide a more seamless purchase experience and sell more tickets," said Dan Armstrong, to BuzzFeed. He is the vice president and general manager of distributed commerce at Ticketmaster.

Companies have been trying to partially shift their commercial operations to Facebook for a number of years. The social media giant has partnered with several companies like Lyft, Uber, Everlane in this regard.

Some partnerships were successful and some were not. But for events like concerts and gigs, Facebook as a way of selling more tickets makes a lot of sense.

Within the main app of the site, the social media company enables publishers to create instant articles that appear on the screen instead of being redirected to another mobile browser.

Facebook users can request car rides on the Messenger app, or check in for a KLM flight, or buy a new T-shirt. With Ticketmaster on the wings, users can now buy concert tickets as well.
