If you live in Boston, and you want a hefty salary, there are two companies in the place that you need to target. These two are Strategy & and Boston Consulting Group.
People who are fortunately employed in these two firms enjoy a median base salary of $147,000. That is the highest starting salary an employee can get in all of the United States.
This information is taken from the latest Glassdoor report titled "25 Highest Paying Companies in America for 2016."
Company rankings made by Glassdoor were based on each firm's median overall compensations which were compiled by examining salary reports of every company, in which employees voluntarily and anonymously shared their salary data and other forms of compensation they receive such as tips, bonuses and commissions over the past year.
Strategy & is a global strategy consulting firm which also ranked number 2 in median total compensation of $160,000. Boston Consulting group was ranked number 8, having a median total compensation of $150,200. These two were tied in the number one spot for having the highest median base salary.
The nationwide average worker's salary in the country is only $50,000 per annum. This figure considers workers who depend on poverty wages and also those who make six-figure salaries.
Companies in only a few sectors provide the highest wages. The average salary of an employee in the top 25 U.S. companies is three times the wage of the average worker.
Companies that pay the highest salaries are involved primarily in just two industry sectors: tech and consulting. These industries need to offer higher salaries in order to attract the nation's most highly-talented and highly-skilled workers.
Such kinds of workers demand higher pay to match the skills and ability they are offering. In technology companies, this is usually the case. Of the 25 top paying companies in the country, 20 of them are tech companies.
