Airbus is known for its multinational civil aircrafts. Now, Airbus Americas has chosen Ashburn, VA as the operations site for the Satair Group - a 100% Airbus subsidiary.

The company has pledged to invest $1 million in Loudoun for its material distribution capabilities as well as employment. Business Facilities also noted that the company is adding workforce from the county boosts the economic development of the area.

The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors are already working with Airbus regarding the terms of agreements, according to the Loudoun County Department of Economic Development.

Loudoun was successful in bidding its location against other east coast locations. Loudoun County Chair Pyllis J. Randall described the county as a wonderful place to conduct business especially to those who need greater access by Washington Dulles International Airport.

He and other members continue to "...invest in the infrastructure necessary to support these businesses and their employees," he explained.

The county will be the aviation and logistics hub for Airbus Americas and Satair Group. According to the company, more than 2,800 Airbus aircraft have been ordered in the Americas - Latin America and the Caribbean as well as North America - and the site supports customers beyond those borders, servicing aircraft fleet across the globe.

The new site will become the material distribution center that can provide rapid-response service to support the needs of airlines throughout the world. The facility operates 24 hours per day to provide an immediate response to airline requests for critical parts.

Loudoun Senior Business Recruiter Steve Hargan is ecstatic about the project: "We're incredibly proud of the fact that Airbus, the top commercial aircraft manufacturer in the world, continues to choose Loudoun as a business location," he said.

On May 3, 2016, the deal will be finalized and training for staff members will begin.
