"Attack on Titan" season 2 news and updates revealed a possible scenario of the series returning in the second quarter of this year. The hiatus has been long which is why enough diversion is the call directed for the creators along with the need to ensure the release of the second sequel has heightened.
Christian Times noted, "Attack on Titan" (Shingeki no Kyojin) fans have been waiting for too long since the first season of the anime series ended in 2014, and it seems that the show would not be back anytime soon."
The popular series' production previously hit a wall when it was delayed twice, following issues in the lack of story arc and the "Attack on Titan" is known to keep true to its manga counterpart, and the manga should be four story arcs ahead, according to the same post.
As of the moment, there are only two arcs existing leading to hearsays that the series will veer away from its manga and develop a different setline but the creators have remained firm that the series will never delve away from its origin and roots.

Even though creators have been receiving request to release the series and not go back and forth with different reasoning, "Attack on Titan" projected return on the second quarter remains fickle and the possibility of gaining footing in the manga world is unsettled.
