Taylor Swift Bags The Taylor Swift Award! How Much Is The Star Worth Now?

The 64th Annual BMI Pop Awards gave Taylor Swift a brand new award-the Taylor Swift Award! The award was a celebration of her musical talent and her influence both as an artist and as a person. In addition to her namesake award, Swift also won the Pop Songwriter award.

The humor was not lost on the iconic singer. She joked in her acceptance speech, I'm super relieved that BMI decided to give me the Taylor Swift Award, because if they had chose somebody else to give the Taylor Swift Award to I'd be like kind of bummed about it."

Swift's namesake award is only the second of such an award named after the artist receiving it. The first one was the Michael Jackson which makes the two part of a very exclusive club, Entertainment Weekly reported.

BMI Vice President of Writer/Publisher Relations Barbara Cane said in a statement last month, "Taylor Swift had transformed pop culture through her songs, artistry and indomitable spirit." She added, "She has had a profound impact, not only musically, but also through her personal conviction and commitment to create a standard that values and respects music for everyone. We felt it appropriate to award Taylor with an honor that is as unique and special as she is."

Taylor Swift is one of the wealthiest female artists today. From June 2014 to June 2015, she was reported to have made $80 million, Hollywood Take reported. That number has definitely risen thanks to her 1989 tour. For this year alone, she is expected to rake in $365 million or a million per day.

She will make $280 million from gross ticket sales though a large chunk of that will go to paying for the tour. Forbes estimates her that she will earn $100 million this year.
