Mother of Dragons, Emilia Clarke's Career Before She Was Famous

Before she became Khaleesi, Emilia Clarke was just a walk-on actress for a soap opera and had a small stunt at a made-for-TV movie. Those were her only two credits.

Before Emilia Clarke became the Mother of Dragons, she was unknown. Now, she's the most bad-ass actress on HBO's television series "Game of Thrones," as Daenerys Targaryen, according to Business Insider.

When she was a child, she fell in love with Audrey Hepburn's "My Fair Lady." After that, she knew she always wanted to be an actress. She attended the Drama Centre London which also schooled Colin Firth, Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender.

She once said that if she wasn't an actress, she would have been an architect, a singer or a graphic designer. She's highly skilled when it comes to jazz and singing. But like most struggling and aspiring actresses, she also had to work odds and ends in order to make it. She used to work three to six different jobs to get by before Emilia Clarke became the Mother of Dragons. She used to work at a call center, waitress at a restaurant and she also did bar tending.

Clarke sat down with Flare once. In an interview, she said that "... After my last audition for "Game of Thrones," they said, 'Congratulations, princess.' I was like, 'Bye-bye, call centre.'"

If she didn't get the job? She claimed she would most likely be still working in one of her three jobs. "I was doing a call center job, I was a waitress and I working in a bar somewhere in East London. Unemployed actor, that was what I was doing. I had only just come out of drama school one year before this happened."
