'Warcraft 2' Movie Confirmed? Sequel May Feature The Burning Legion

The "Warcraft 2" movie has been hinted by the film's official Chinese social media account. This comes after "Warcraft" became a massive hit in the international box office scene.

/FILM reported that a post by the official social media account of the original film on Chinese microblogging website Weibo teased about the possibility of a "Warcraft 2" movie. The post indicated that the first film was just the beginning.

The Weibo post was translated by a user. It was shared at the "World of Warcraft" Reddit.

"'Warcraft's' theatrical run is coming to an end," the translated post read. "But the chapter of a new decade has just begun. It's a starting point, not an end point. We don't say goodbye now because we'll meet you again!"

This led to speculations that a "Warcraft 2" movie is already in the works. Moreover, since the post was made by the film's official account, it seems legit.

The news is unsurprising since, according to Gizmodo, the "Warcraft" movie had the largest foreign debut in Chinese history after just five days, with $156 million. China has a lot of "World of Warcraft" players.

Meanwhile, Cinema Blend shared six improvements that should be included in the "Warcraft 2" movie. It was noted that the sequel should have a main character and focus on telling the story from his or her perspective.

Other races such as the dwarves, elves and gnomes should be given the spotlight as well. The "Warcraft 2" movie may also have more naval and air combat.

The publication added that the sequel should focus on the external force, known as the Burning Legion, which has a major influence in the battle between the orcs and the humans. The Burning Legion is deemed as the "real enemy" in the games.

It was previously reported that director Duncan Jones has admitted to the possibility of using the Lich King's story for the "Warcraft 2" movie. "I would love to see Lich King," he said. "You know, I would love to see these other things."
