"Jungle Book" was beaten by the hilarious film, "Bridget Jones' Baby" with a total gross of $173.4 million against a budget of $35 million. On the other hand, it was reported that the said movie was UK's top grossing film for 2016.

The romantic comedy film, "Bridget Jones' Baby" which was directed by Sharon Maguire earned an incredible £46.27 million at the box office. It was reported that the said movie was UK's best-selling film for 2016. Bridget Jones' Baby beats Disney's live-action remake of the "Jungle Book" which ranked number 2 in the top grossing film for 2016. Jungle Book earned £46.1million followed by Pixar's Finding Dory which had a total gross of £42.6million.  On the other hand, "Deadpool" ranked number 3 which has a total gross of £37.9million, Captain America: Civil War" was on the fourth list which totaled to £37.09 million and "Girl on the Train" ranked number 5 which earned a total gross of £20 million.

During the promotion of the film, an exclusive interview with The Independent to Firth about his doubt if the movie could work without his co-star, Hugh Grant. "At first I thought, 'it can't possibly work.' I had no idea if Hugh would prove to be completely irrelevant.", he said. "I thought it couldn't work without Hugh.
