Call of Duty is one of the largest staple first person shooting franchise games in history, and their latest edition that comes in the form of Infinite Warfare did not slow down in re-creating the usual CoD hype.
But it appears that cross-playing may be a set-back as players who purchased a PC copy of the Infinite Warfare game on the Windows Store on Windows 10 won't be able to enter multiplayer with players on other platforms. Infinite Warfare apparently will not support cross-platform gaming between players on theWindows PC and console gamers.
Furthermore, the restriction extends to barring players of Infinite Warfare to play with other players who play on PC on other platforms. Let's break this down. This means that a player who purchased Infinite Warfare in Windows 10 from the Windows Store will not be able to play against or with players who purchased their CoD games from Valve's Steam service, with players who run their CoD on consoles, or on any other platforms.
The restriction on the cross-platform gaming on Infinite Warfare will extend to the Modern Warfare Remastered version as well. As explained in the support pages of Activision, the two Call of Duty titles can only be played with users of Windows 10 on Windows Store if the player purchased it in that said manner.
The CoD version of the two newest titles is also not included in the "Play Anywhere"system of Microsoft which was crafted to support cross-platform gaming. The system essentially lets players who bought an Xbox or Windows version of a game to get a free copy of the game to play on the other platform.
This system is in direct contrast of the cross-platform restrictions currently applied in both Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Re-mastered.
