Some insiders are saying that the upcoming episode of "Steven Universe" Season 4 will show new abilities from Steven. The new ability could be that Steven has discovered a way for him to turn into a full crystal gem, but it will come with a price.
These are all just rumors and speculations from avid fans of the show at this point, but it's also possible to be true as the insider who said it is a credible one. Steven Universe's creator, though, Rebecca Sugar has been tight-lipped about updates regarding "Steven Universe" Season 4.
Speaking of Sugar, in an interview with Newsarama last May 2016, she may have hinted that Steven Universe will only be having one more season after this one. She said she has "big plans" for "Steven Universe" Season 5. "Endgame or not I'm shooting for the moon," she said. "I'm going to write us into a serious corner!"
Though the interview happened in May, speculations and rumors that the show will indeed be canceled after "Steven Universe" Season 5 still lingers. According to GameNGuide, there are reports that say only one more season will be left after "Steven Universe" Season 4 is concluded before the series is officially ended.
Sugar is neither, denying nor confirming the rumors, which somehow increases people's speculations. Whether this rumor is true or not, it's best that people just continue enjoying first the remaining episodes of "Steven Universe" Season 4
