Huma Abedin Takes Hillary Clinton Loss Hard; Openly Weeps on the Streets of New York

Hillary Clinton lost the presidency to Donald Trump by way of the Electoral College votes. While the loss was taken hard by many, it seems especially painful for the Democratic nominee's aide, Huma Abedin.

Huma Abedin was seen openly weeping on her way to Brooklyn last Friday. Apparently, this was moments after she received a text message, presumably stating that they have lost the presidency. It was reported that after she read the message, she started to walk to the Hillary Clinton campaign office with a pained expression on her face.

It was 2015 when the staffer of Indian and Pakistani descent was appointed to serve as vice chairwoman for Clinton's presidential campaign. She played a significant role in screening applicants who will work with the team, being the third most powerful member of the campaign committee.

However, her stint was not without controversy. While she valiantly fought to be a "gatekeeper" of sorts when the scandalous e-mails of Clinton made news, she suddenly disappeared when FBI Diretor James Comey stated that they will be taking another look at the e-mails.

There were allegations that Abedin's appointment had ulterior motives, in the event that Clinton won. There were reports saying that Abedin will push for Islamic representation in the White House, should her boss win. So far, none of these issues were confirmed.

The American staffer has always been one of the Democratic nominee's closest aides; it was even said that she was considered one of Clinton's surrogate daughters. She began working in the White House in 1996, where she served as an intern assigned to the former First Lady.

She had a relatively successful career, working with Clinton the whole time. Starting 2009, she had served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Clinton In the State Department, and had notable roles in the Clinton foundation.
