Katy Perry To Spend Thanksgiving With Family, Expects Peaceful Convo At Dinner

"Dark Horse " singer Katy Perry is celebrating Thanksgiving Day with her family.  It may seem awkward because, in the recent presidential elections, her parents voted for Donald Trump despite her being known as an avid supporter of Hilary Clinton.

Headline News reported that Perry twitted this to her millions of fans that were interested in her Thanksgiving plans. The political differences with her parents, Keith and Mary Hudson, are known to the public because she divulged it herself on election night.

On that fateful night, in front of a huge crowd, she revealed that her parents voted for Trump. This was a big surprise for the crowd attending the Clinton election night affair in New York City.

Even then, she announced before the crowd that she will still be spending Thanksgiving with her family that she loves. "What a great country this is that gives us the freedom to express our differences, our opinions, our hopes and our fears," Perry said.

Perry believes that everyone should continue to love their parents and children even if they have differences in choices, beliefs, and opinions. These can be patched up through conciliatory conversations which she intends to have her parents come on Thanksgiving Day.

Her parents are not exactly fond of their daughter's career as reported by Huffington Post a few years back. Still, she loves her parents and has tried her best to keep the relationship open through the years.

From the time Hilary Clinton declared her candidacy, Katy Perry was her loyal supporter. After Clinton lost in her bid for the presidency, Perry supported the protest against Donald Trump's presidency by signifying in social media her conformity with the movement.

These protest activities will not stop the singer from being with her family on Thanksgiving Day. She will just have to be watchful what to say over dinner with her family to avoid conflict.
