'Ghost in the Shell' Movie Update: Is The Trailer of the Live-action Close To The Anime Series?

After the release of the trailer of the live-action movie of the hit anime-manga series "Ghost in the Shell", fans went wild. Though some issues arrived claiming that the film is whitewashed, we can give a thumbs up to the film makers as far as the trailer, Rupert Sanders has done justice to the adaptation.

It's been twenty one years since the initial release of the anime and up to this date it is considered as one of the best anime movies of all time. It's unique setting and story has brought praises not only from Japan but also in America.

Based from the original manga of the same name by Masamune Shirow, "Ghost in the Shell" is set in a futuristic world where a person's mind can be extracted and uploaded it into a cybernetic body making someone basically immortal. The story will revolve around Major that will be played by Scarlett Johansson, as she discover her past and her struggle of being a human and machine at the same time.

The trailer was released earlier this month and basing on the trailer alone, we can say that if a live-action movie is given a handsome amount of budget it can be a worldwide phenomenon. It iss evident that the team made an outstanding job recreating the intricate universe of Masamune's world.

IGN produced a video comparison between clips from the trailer and the clips from the "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex" series. We can see the shot by shot comparison and how the anime is given a more modern vibe. This video help the other fans who didn't get know the anime to appreciate the adaptation efforts of the film makers. To the one who created the video, we salute you!

Let us not make a hasty judgement as the trailer just represents a fraction of the whole movie. Even if a movie has the best actors, director visual effects and the highest budget that the world can offer, it will be all for naught if the story is lacking. We can just hope for the best as "Ghost in the Shell" will hit the silver screens on March 31, 2017.
