The Season 5 of "Arrow" marks its 100th episode with the return of the series' very first villain - Slade Wilson who is also known as Deathstroke. So, fans must expect worse things to happen in the storyline of the series, as also confirmed by the producers of "Arrow" Season 5.
The synopsis of the pilot episode of "Arrow" Season 5 will feature the awakening of Green Arrow/Oliver Queen, played by Stephen Amell, to the reality he certainly did not get in The Queen's Gambit. It is also revealed that Oliver Queen's parents, Robert Queen (Jamey Sheridan) and Moira Queen (Susanna Thompson) are certainly not dead.
Oliver Queen is also about to marry Laurel Lance, played by Katie Cassidy. But, the Green Arrow's littlest flaws will lead him to discovery of the mysteries behind the new reality.
The Season 1 of "Arrow" highlighted the repugnance between Oliver Queen and Slade Wilson. Despite being good friends once, the friendship of Arrow and Deathstroke has ended because of their differences. For five years, it was Slade Wilson who guided Oliver Queen in learning the things he needed to know in order to combat and to survive in Lian Yu.
As featured in "Arrow's" first season, after an accident that almost killed Slade Wilson, a mirakuru serum was injected in him. This serum was the one responsible for his transformation from good to a deadly and wicked character that is going for a massive destruction and is seeking revenge to Anthony Ivo who is responsible for the death of Shado.
According to an article by iTech Post, Slade Wilson has been successful in his goal of avenging Shado's death. However, when discovered that one of the reasons for Shado's death was Oliver Queen, he wanted the latter to suffer just like what Shado went through. Slade killed the people close to Green Arrow, including Moira Queen, Oliver's mother.
During the battle between Oliver and Slade while boarding Amazo, Oliver was made to believe that Slade was already killed when he poked and stabbed Slade's right eye. However, Slade returned five years after his combat with Oliver, and now, he is called "Deathstroke" who is still not satisfied with how Oliver suffered. Deathstroke has never stopped to think of all the possible means on how to kill and get rid of Oliver.
A report also reveals that Thea Queen will have more appearances as Speedy in the next episodes of "Arrow" Season 5. She will also be part of the team of her brother Spartan, The Flash, Supergirl in their battle against alien intruders known as Dominiators.
