Gossip tabloids, notably National Enquirer, have reported that Cruise has gained custody of Suri, his daughter from his marriage to Katie Holmes. However, this is not true according to another report featured in Gossip Cop. The report detailed that Cruise has not seen his daughter for years, so gaining custody is something distant.
Suri is Cruise's daughter with the actress Katie Holmes during their highly publicized six-year marriage. The former Hollywood super couple divorced on 2012, an even that also has occupied tabloids' front pages for months.
Although the exact details of the divorce settlement are largely undisclosed from the public, it is largely known that Holmes gained full custody of Suri. The former pair reportedly has bitter feelings against each other and does not to refer each other as friends. Therefore, Cruise gaining custody of Suri seems far-fetched.
There are good reasons tabloids continue to hover on this former couple, especially on Cruise. According to Holmes, Cruise was reportedly a controlling husband. Cruise is also an advocate and, probably, the most popular member of the Scientology religion. Scientology is a deeply controversial religion that was recently in the news due to allegations of mistreatment of its members. Cruise is close to the Scientology leader David Miscavige, who also has his own share of controversies. Cruise's strict adherence to Scientology principles is reportedly the reason why Holmes strived to gain full custody of Suri.
Recently, Cruise starred in Jack Reacher (2012), Oblivion (2013), Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015). Although Cruise's recent films have had mixed success at the box office, he is still one of the most highly-regarded actors in Hollywood.
Meanwhile, Holmes is raising Suri as a single mom and has starred in several TV shows including The Kennedys and How I Met Your Mother. She is also doing a good job as a film director. Her film Eternal Princess, a documentary film about the Olympic gymnast Nadia Comăneci, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
