‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8: Latest News, Updates, Spoilers And Release Date; Nina Dobrev Is Back?

The sixth episode of the eighth installment of the series "The Vampire Dairies" had already hit the small screens but the appearance of Nina Dobrev is still in question. Fans are starting to get a little bit impatient since her last appearance in the series was way back in the sixth episode.

Although there have been a lot of reports that the "Final Girls" star will not be showing up for the season finale, however, there were also claims that the 27-year old actress is actually back and had already filmed the twelfth episode - this is according to the latest reports of GamenGuide.

Nina Dobrev, who played Elena Gilbert in "The Vampire Diaries", caused the ratings of the series to suddenly drop after she was removed in the supernatural drama television series. She was reported to be no longer interested in reprising her role and has refused to return to the show. Nevertheless, fans are still insistent of her comeback, as they were devastated and at the same time frustrated over Elena and Damon's separation.

Surely, Elena-Damon fans are ecstatic about the return of Dobrev for the twelfth episode of season eight. The actress insists on playing the role of Katherine Peirce to finally give closure to her story but has also agreed to play Elena Gilbert's character to end the fans' frustration over Elena and Damon not getting a happily ever after.

"The Vampire Diaries" executive producer, Julie Plec, also stated when asked that the possibility of Dobrev coming back to the show as Elena or Katherine is pretty high. If Nina will come back as Katherine, it's only going to happen to provide closure to her story and she will not be involved in Stefan and Caroline's relationship anymore. However, Dobrev returning as Katherine is still not confirmed yet, but Nina will sure be in the eighth season.
