‘Overwatch’ Game Update: New Maps In Development; Torbjorn And 3 Other Characters To Don A Santa Outfit

Blizzard Entertainment's "Overwatch" game is rumored to be having a Christmas event before the year 2016 ends. Leaks of skins, maps and gameplays are emerging online, hyping up the hopes of the fans.

Although there was no confirmed schedule yet, a Christmas special is likely to be announced anytime soon. "Overwatch" players discovered that the game will feature "Arena" game mode, Oasis maps, unlockable items, and new theme music.

The official Twitter page of the "Overwatch" game posted a status on Thursday confirming the availability of the new maps. The maps, however, are still in further enhancement but users are encouraged to try it out. "A new Control map, Oasis, is currently in development & now available for testing on the PTR," they wrote.

Meanwhile, Tech.Mic revealed some details about the leaks and data mining of the game. Every character seemed to be having new skins, spray paints and voice lines. These characters namely Widowmaker, Reinhardt, Mercy, Symmetra, Reaper, Sombra, Roadhog D.va, ana, Soldier: 76 and Lucio will be getting an extra item - an emote, a new skin or a highlight intro.

For Winston, McCree, Mei, Pharah, Zarya, Tracer and Zenyatta, they might likely be having two additional items, which can either be a skin or a highlight intro. It was also indicated that three special items will be given to the character of Torbjörn. Fans, however, speculated that Torbjörn will be donning a Santa Claus outfit as a holiday skin.

Reports added up to the speculation that there will be three more characters to be donning a Christmas outfit aside from Torbjörn. The three characters include Reinhardt, Roadhog, and Winston. In December 2014, Torbjörn was also seen with a Santa outfit and the three other characters seemed to be a perfect candidate for a Santa skin.

Fans are anticipating that Blizzard will make an official announcement during one of their live updates every Tuesday. Unless an official statement is released, the "Overwatch" Christmas event remains unconfirmed.
