In Chapter 513 of “Fairy Tail”, Erza’s relationship to Irene was confirmed. Irene Belserion, The Scarlet Despair, revealed that she is Erza Scarlet’s mother. But fans never expected the revelation that, Irene is the former Queen of the Dragons. Now, who is her father?
Erza denied Irene instantly and said that the only parent she recognizes is Makarov, the current master of their guild “Fairy Tail”. After all, she grew up knowing she was a just a lone orphan with no parents and later on made “Fairy Tail” her family.
Irene said that it doesn’t matter if Erza accepts her or not, because she also believed that her child died long ago. She just wants to let Erza know her true identity and past.
Tons of speculations were made with the Chapter 513 and 514, and here are some with supporting facts:
Eileen Born Before The Age Of Dragons?
“At that time, these Dragons were lording it over the world.” This was written in the last panel of the chapter.
With Irene having said she was the Queen of the Dragons, the last panel showed her leading a group of dragons. This could conclude that Irene was alive at the time that dragons dominate the world. It would make Erza born before the other Dragon Slayers, a big question to be answered in the next installments.
Who Is Erza’s Father?
Now, Erza already knows her mother, which will make it easier for her to locate the whereabouts of her father. If Irene, Erza's mother then is the Queen, and Natsu’s father, Igneel, is the King of the Dragons, would that then make Natsu and Erza siblings?
According to Trippedmedia, Acnologia is Erza’s father with having Acnologia proclaim that he is the King of the Dragons. Well, that explains the bitterness with Irene’s expression towards Hisui’s father when she asked him whether he still loves his daughter despite her turning Hisui into a frog. Makes sense if Acnologia forced Irene to like him despite him being a half human, half dragon.
Well sad to say, this theory that Acnologia is Erza’s father is contradicted in the chapter wherein Irene introduced herself to Acnologia. Or maybe, Acnologia doesn’t remember Irene anymore because Irene changed her appearance to look younger.
While Gackhollywood concluded that Igneel is Erza’s father given the facts that Igneel is the known and acknowledged Fire Dragon King even though Acnologia claims himself to be the King of the Dragons. It could mean that if Irene is the true Queen of the Dragons and Igneel is the King, then Natsu could be Erza’s brother. Still, this theory contradicts Irene’s cruel and selfish nature.
The origins of the dragons and their nature, Irene as the former Queen of the Dragons along with Erza’s untold past and the true relationship between Lucy and Anna Heartfilia, would unfold in the next chapter to be released as usual next week, according to Gackhollywood.
