"Attack On Titan" is an anime series adapted from the manga created by Hijame Isayama, the first season of the adaptation started on April 2013 and ended five months later (September). The next installment was announced in the following year, and was supposed to be aired this year but due to delays; the season premier of the second season will be on April 2017.
Speculations say that the reason behind the delay is because the production company is probably waiting for the manga to publish more stories so that they could get ideas from it. Same with the previous season, they also used stories from the manga; but unlike before, the manga had not progressed much yet these days.
However, a report stated that the next series will be a "fresh new start" and will be much different from the manga - this contradicts the speculations but none are certain about all these yet.
There will be tons of revelations in the second season; one of them, according to Movie Pilot, is that the walls that are somehow protecting the village and the people in it from the Titans are actually made out of dead Titans.
Political issues will also be covered in the next installment. The characters might discover something relevant to the government and the Titans and how the government has something to do with the Titans. Although, no certain reports and spoilers about how there are people inside the walls. Some are wondering whether the people are trapped or not and this is leaving fans nothing but excitement.
What's more is that there might also be a character(s) that has a huge revelation. Clue: Titan-Shifters. Sure, this will make the story way more interesting. This possibly is one of the biggest plot twists in the history of the series.
