Following the relative success of "Kingsman: The Secret Service" in 2014, this film franchise is good for another blockbuster sequel. As it turns out, "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" is prepped to take the 'crazy' factor to a whole new level. Their edge? The cast!
The triumph of the earlier film points to the portrayal of its villains. Putting a slightly juvenile touch to the psychotic cracks reminiscent of Quentin Tarantino films, the first "Kingsman" movie puts the veteran Samuel Jackson and younger Sofia Boutella as powerhouse enemy duo. In effect, the pair of weaponized prosthetic legs has become a memorable feature.
The Crazy Cast
Director Matthew Vaughn, however, wished to aim for a higher milestone. A key emphasis of the out-of-the-box design is the casting of Julianne Moore as the chief villain for "Kingsman: Golden Circle." As reported by We Got This Covered, reprising lead actor Taron Egerton was vocal in his terror over Julian Moore's portrayal.
Apart from the return of Taron Egerton and Mark Strong, the production includes a lineup of blockbuster actors like Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Jeff Bridges, Vinnie Jones, and Elton John (no kidding!). There are no further details regarding the release date yet, but an article published by Comic Book underscores the fact that an upcoming trailer will shed light to how the director can possibly take it up to a notch with the previous film already proving itself to be over the top.
Background Story
In "Kingsman: The Golden Circle," the heroic spies now find themselves on the run after their agency was destroyed by Poppy (Julianne Moore). Hence, they collaborate with their American counterparts - the Statesmen - who are also hunting the notorious nemesis.
