Samsung permitted users of S7 edge and Galaxy S7 who are in the Beta Program to use Android 7.0 Nougat as a trial prior to its release to all other customers. At the end of the testing, the update is then going to be released to other users of these devices prior to the end of this year. Despite the permissions from Samsung, users of Verizon cannot be involved in this trial period but will have the update beginning of next year.
According to Techtimes, information was given on the app for Galaxy Beta. The announcement stated that Verizon is going to remain with the initial software during this season of trying the new update. The information shows that Verizon has stopped being a member of the program.
The Verizon Beta program members have a choice on whether they will follow the decision made by Verizon by returning to Android 6.0 or keep on with the Beta program. For the users who will decide to keep on with the program, Samsung is going to allow them to use Nougat instead of Marshmallow. Verizon users will have the N software upgrade when it is released beginning of 2017.
InternationaBusinesstimes reports that, Verizon did not give reasons to why they have chosen not to be part of the Beta program anymore. SamMobile said that Verizon is recognized for removal or denial of what other carriers or Samsung offers. It is a good thing that the release of this update is not far away and therefore users do not have to be delayed for long.
Although Android 7.0 Nougat update for S7 Edge and Galaxy S7 may be released at the end of 2016, Verizon and other carrier users will receive it early next year. Users wishing to be part of the trial program will have to download and fill an application.
