‘Ocean’s Eight’ Spoilers: Rihanna Goes Undercover, New Crew Planning A Massive Heist?

Production for “Ocean’s Eight” is ongoing in New York City, and some of the stars of the all-women remake have been spotted over the past few weeks. Last weekend, Rihanna was seen looking far from her glamorous self as she filmed a new scene for the upcoming film.

In photos published by People, the “Work” singer is seen wearing a gray jumpsuit and has her hair pulled back from her face. In the scene, Rihanna is pushing a garbage can while listening to music. The jumpsuit has the name “Angela” on it, along with the title “Facility Services.”

Another photo shows Rihanna wearing the same outfit and eating hotdogs and fries with Sandra Bullock at Papaya King. The two are seen sharing headphones, and it was speculated that the duo might be listening to some instructions for their next big steal.

The film’s plot has been kept under wraps, but it’s likely that “Ocean’s Eight” will be a heist movie similar to the “Ocean’s Eleven” franchise starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt. Though it’s unknown if the ladies will be stealing something of immense value in the new film, it’s highly possible that they will be teaming up to pull off a major heist in New York.

Earlier this year, director Gary Ross told Slashfilm that “Ocean’s Eight” will have a similar feel to the “Ocean’s Eleven” trilogy films.

“I think it’s a pretty similar tone,” said Ross. “You know, [Ocean’s Eleven director] Steven Soderbergh and I are incredibly close friends, and we would not have done this if we weren’t.”

Joining Rihanna and Bullock in the upcoming film are Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter, and Awkwafina. The actresses’ roles have yet to be disclosed by Warner Bros. Matt Damon will reprise his role as Linus Caldwell, and it was previously reported by Jobs & Hire that “Homeland” star Damian Lewis will join “Ocean’s Eight” as the film’s big bad.

“Ocean’s Eight” opens in theaters on June 8, 2018.
