'For Honor' Release Date, Gameplay, & Updates: Active Internet Connection Needed to Satisfy 'Always Online' Requirement

In order to enjoy the well tested Ubisoft game “For Honor” gamers will need to be playing it online at all times, says the video game publisher’s community representative.

According to GameSpot, Ubisoft has confirmed the news of UbiJurassic, the publisher’s community representative, that the new slash and hack game will always require an internet connection in order to be played by gamers. Apparently, a few elements of progression that are shared across story and multiplayer modes are hosted online which necessitates an internet access and thus making it an online experience.

“For Honor” received good feedback and reviews from alpha and beta testers last month, reports Jobs & Hire, but it failed to mention the need for online connectivity. What was mentioned was that both the single player and the multiplayer modes of the game were tested, with the former coming out as especially entertaining, confirming the developer’s previous statement that even the single player mode will be a full experience.

When your Xbox One, PS4, or PC is hooked up online, you can choose to enjoy the game either as a single player or as a multiplayer as already mentioned above. In addition, you can also choose to be one among the three factions of Knights, Vikings, or Samurais.

For multiplayer gamers, three battle modes are available namely Dominion, Duel, and Brawl. Dominion requires teams to score a thousand points for a victory, while Duel and Brawl require three rounds of fights in an arena with the former being one against one, and the latter two versus two.

The game is looking to be a worldwide success if the reviews are anything to come by. It was first announced last year in the 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo and it is set to be released on Valentine’s Day, Feburary 14, next year.
