Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn in "Suicide Squad" and Naomi Lapaglia in "The Wolf of Wall Street") came home to Australia not just to celebrate the holidays, but for another very important reason. Born in Dalby, Australia and raised in the Gold Coast, it's no surprise Robbie would want to celebrate her special day there. According to Yahoo Australia, a friend told Woman's Day publication that "The Gold Coast was somewhere she always wanted to get married."
Rumors about marriage started last year after the couple was spotted wearing matching gold bands when Robbie was in Canada, filming Suicide Squad.
Her 26-year-old boyfriend Tom Ackerley planned otherwise for their secret wedding. He preferred to tie the knot with her in his home soil, England. However, Tom gave way for his then to-be wife and they exchanged their very own romantic wedding vows in her native land instead. As secretive as they were about the wedding details, a source mentioned that the 26-year-old actress has been preoccupied, scouting for the perfect bridal dress, Elie Saab's and Oscar de la Renta's as choices on her list.
As per info in Daily Telegraph via Woman's Day, their big day was just last December 19, 2016! Also posted in Woman's Day, according to Daily Telegraph, Robbie and Ackerley reportedly tied the knot in Ewingsdale, Byron Bay, with people closest to their hearts as witnesses. Although there was no exact location revealed for the nuptials, a photo hinting just that were shared by Robbie's friend, followed by another photo taken by the groom's brother at Harvest in Newrybar, a popular wedding hotspot.
Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley's secret wedding was set around the holidays so that husband and wife could also spend quality time together with their friends and families (which they don't get to do too often with their busy schedules) during the most festive time of the year. The two have been dating since 2013.
