Miley Cyrus And Liam Hemsworth Finally Call Off Engagement [VIDEO & REPORT]

It's official: Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have finally called off their engagement.

Representatives from both parties confirmed the termination of the engagement to the media today.

This comes after many months of breeding speculation about how the couple have had trouble about their relationship in the past. But they did not go beyond being anything but rumors, as Miley Cyrus implied last June that the relationship was still going strong, telling Good Morning America, "I'm wearing a ring, so..."

The couple first met on set in the 2009 film "The Last Song." The onscreen romance quickly turned into a real-life romance, as they started dating soon afterward, and announcing their engagement in 2012.

But both stars were also focused on their careers; Miley with her music, and Liam with his films. "I'm not home with my boyfriend all the time. We work. Every week it's, 'are they broken up? Because we don't see a photo of them,'" Miley has said in a magazine interview earlier this year, "I don't have the time to go to Starbucks with my boyfriend every morning. I wish I did, but I don't." Cyrus had been busy with recording her now infamous album Bangerz.

One of the songs in the album speaks of some great emotional letdown that many believe are about her relationship with Liam Hemsworth, her single, Wrecking Ball. Cyrus mentions that the video should bring a sense of sadness-which people are no doubt having some difficulty understanding, as her nudity is a huge obstruction to get over.

Meanwhile, Liam Hemsworth seems to already have things in control. The actor was said to have sent Mad Men  star January Jones several flirtatious texts while still engaged to Miley, and has been spotted partying it up in Las Vegas with a hot chick.
