Tech For The Minimalist: Why You Need This Light Phone

Today's technology has made the world chaotic for some people. At some point, people become addictive to their gadgets such as smartphones. If you want to overcome such addiction, or simply wants to bring your focus back to important matters, this Light Phone could be what you need.

Joe Hollier and Kai Tang created a startup company, Light, which is now working on a phone that might remind you of the traditional telephone. The Light Phone can only make and receive calls. No texts. No cameras. No Wi-Fi.

As reported by Business Insider, this device is designed to be your "phone away from phone" that should be used "as little as possible." It would keep you away from distractions in the digital world and help you appreciate more the things around you.

The Light Phone comes at a size of a credit card. It is light and thin that can be easily slipped into your pocket. Coming in two colors, black and white, the phone has LED light and touch screen. It has six modes: standby, on, info, speed dial, incoming and connected.

The Light Phone, which is currently in production at Foxconn, has a price tag of $150. In addition, one needs to pay $5 per month for a SIM card and Light's software platform. The Light Phone is now available for pre-order on the company's website.
