Bones Recap & Season 9 Spoilers: "There Will Be A Wedding!" Execs Say

In season 8 of "Bones," commitment-phobe Brennan decides to propose to Booth, who is later forced to call off the engagement after a hacker-slash serial killer threatens to kill five people if Booth does not comply. He is also not supposed to tell Brennan the reason why he turns her down, and so the season ends if five innocent lives being spared, and the protagonists in heartbreak.

Season 9
The ninth season of "Bones," which premiered last September 16, takes place a few months after the season 8 wrap-up, with both Brennan and Banner dealing with the repercussions of calling off their engagement. The first episode, titled "The Secrets In The Proposal," both Brennan and Booth are obviously still in pain over what happened, but producers say both know they cannot bear living without each other, and Booth knows what he has to do to make up for it.
Producers say the first few episodes of "Bones" will be about tracing and capturing cock-blocking hacker/murderer Christopher Pelant, saying that he is part of the scheme to reveal the next big villain.

"It's someone who is far more ephemeral than any of our other bad guys," Producer Stephen Nathan said in an interview about the new season.

Serial killer notwithstanding, producers point to a silver lining, especially regarding Brennan and Booth's seemingly doomed relationship by saying that there will be a wedding for the two lovers, and fans would not even have to wait too long, with the producers saying that the wedding will happen as soon as October.

Producers say that the wedding will feature several returning guest stars including Ryan O'Neal (Brennan's Dad) and Joana Cassidy (Booth's mother) as well as Cyndi Lauper who once played medium Avalon Harmonia.

But as good as that sounds, "Bones" is still a crime series, and even as Brennan and Booth go on vacation, the dark cloud hanging over what they do for a living will eventually follow their honeymoon.

"Bones" fans can follow the forensic duo's love story on Fox every Monday at 9pm, but can also watch "Bones" online--the first two episodes of season 9!-- for the added convenience (In case the need for gratuitous spoilers arise).
