Gina Carano Stars In Her Own Action Movie, Soon-to-be Wonder Woman?

Anchor Bay Entertainment has partnered with Twentieth Century Fox to release "In The Blood", featuring 31-year old American actress and MMA artist, Gina Carano.

According to Hollywood reporter, the Texan-born action star plays a wife in search for her husband who disappeared amidst their honeymoon at the Caribbean. She later uncovered a deeper conspiracy as she takes matters in her own hands.

There is a Facebook page dedicated to publicly support Gina Carano to portray Wonder Woman in a possible big screen adaptation. But even before the Wonder Woman casting talks sparked, Avengelyne co-creator Rob Liefeld had already announced in the recent San Diego Comic-Con International, their interest in getting Carano for the lead role in the movie adaptation of the comic book. The character fights evil and monsters face-to-face in a revealing costume. She has also signed a deal to star in an all-female version of The Expendables.

Gina Carano is a familiar face in the octagon ring and Hollywood. Apart from being Henry Cavill's ex-girlfriend, she has taken remarkable roles in Haywire and Fast & Furious 6 (her betrayal in this movie is perhaps the biggest twist we didn't see coming).

Under her belt are seven victories in professional Mixed Martial Arts or MMA. Muay Thai is her specialty. You simply would not want to mess with this lady.

Carano had tenures with Strikeforce (which was bought UFC's Dana White) and EliteXC. Her popularity in the hard-hitting sport earned her a spot in the 2008 Most Influential Women List released by Yahoo!. There are reports of a possible entre of Carano in UFC. If she can make a good living without being punched, why would she still go back to a profession she has left behind years ago?

This tough cookie also received accolades for her physique and undeniable sex appeal. In 2008, she was voted "Hottest Woman In America" by Big Biz Magazine. The following year, Carano ranked 16th in 2009 Maxim's Hot 100 List. Together with tennis superstar Serena Williams, she graced the cover of the 2009 edition of ESPN The Magazine's Body issue.
