The Ultimate Fighter: Women's Bouts Gaining More Popularity Than Men's Bouts

Dana White, president of UF, has expressed his disbelief at the ratings for the current season of "The Ulitmate Fighter," which is airing on FOX sports.

He says that the rating spike higher whenever there is a women's bout on , and a decrease is shown when men's bouts are shown.

So far there have been three women's bouts on "The Ultimate Fighter," but it has edged out men's fights, with 791,000 viewers for the former, over the 640,000 viewers for the latter.

Dana White, who has long been vocal in his opposition for having women fight in the UFC, has eaten his words after recruiting Olympic medalist for Judo and MMA Fighter Ronda Rousey as Bantamweight champion in the Women's division in UFC.

Rousey had headlined UFC 157 against Liz "the gorilla" Carmouche last February, winning by armbar late in the first round. Ronda Rousey has been regarded as the best pound-for-pound female fighter, winning all her matches within the first round by swift, vicious armbars.

Her February bout with Carmouche gained widespread media attention, compelling Dana White to thank the media at a post-fight conference.

While White did not release the pay=per-view figures, he did say that the number was beyond what he had originally expected.

UFC 168, which is scheduled for this December in Las Vegas will be topped by a rematch between Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman for the middleweight title, but the rematch between Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate (Rousey had taken the Strikeforce Bantamweight belt from defending champion Tate in 2012), will probably give just as much attention.

Ronday Rousey and Miesha Tate are both coaches for this year's TUF, and the impending fight between the rivals has been of more interest to the media than any other fighters in the UFC.

Both female fighters continue to get exposure on TUF 18, with Dana White expecting the interest to mount by December for their rematch.
