More than 85 lovely ladies are wishing for the best for this year's Miss Universe competition, and one candidate has a taste for danger and suspense unlike any other, Miss Great Britain Amy Willerton.
Beauty pageant contestants have many things in common, but it's hard to compare someone else to Miss Great Britain, Amy Willerton. Not only does Amy possess unique, chiseled features, but Miss Great Britain also has a hunger for extreme sports. According to her Miss Universe bio, Amy yearns for activities such as skydiving, wake boarding, and mountain climbing. If Amy wins the title, she might be the first Miss Universe daredevil to do so.
Aside from her love of intense activities, the London native loves to travel. When Miss Great Britain 2013 was 17 years old, she went backpacking all across Egypt on her own to nurture her thirst for sights and beautiful landscape. Amy has also visited several countries so she can ski, including Switzerland. In fact, she even sat between Prince William and Prince Harry in a ski lift while she was in Switzerland, but her shyness overpowered her at that moment. We wonder what the Princes think now that the girl they sat beside to that day is representing their great nation in this year's Miss Universe pageant.
Miss Great Britain, Amy Willerton, also has a rich heritage flowing in her blood. She is known to be a direct descendant of Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, the historical figure who famously divorced Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon so the king can marry Anne Boelyn. Now that's a piece of history not many Miss Universe delegates carry around in their veins!
Amy Willerton might seem too savvy and exciting, but the beauty queen is not all pizzazz. Miss Great Britain 2013 shares that her main inspiration to succeed is her little brother Ross, who is severely disabled. Amy says this has taught her to "grasp every opportunity and be kind to everyone in every situation." Amy's heart of gold mixed with a zest for life might just be her secret to nabbing this year's crown on November 9 in Moscow's Crocus City Hall.
