Dominique Rinderknecht [PHOTOS]: Miss Switzerland Wants to be First Short-Haired Miss Universe

Among all the long-haired candidates, one delegate stands out for sporting an edgy bob cut, and that is Miss Switzerland 2013, Dominique Rinderknecht.

Since the first pageant, all the Miss Universe winners are known to have long, flowy hair. Maybe it is an unwritten rule, but the "norm" has always favored girls who let their long hair flow when they parade in front of the judges. This year, Switzerland's bet, Dominique Rinderknecht, is shattering the "usual" presentation of "beauty" by joining the pageant with short hair.

The tall blonde dons a hair reminiscent of what fashion models have, with the sides shaven for the ultimate "edgy" look. Though all her peers for this year's Miss Universe pageant have long hair, Dominique seem to be unfazed that she is standing out. In fact, it can be her ticket to the top 16, as today's ultra-modern judges seem to love being unique.

The 24-year-old beauty from Zurich is a skilled pianist who has been playing since she was 13. Aside from her love of music, Dominique is also a trained dancer who specializes on street dance, jazz, and hip-hop. Dominique is sure to wow the pageant's judges with her communication skills and bubbly personality, and it wouldn't be a surprise if she lands a major award or even places at the top 10.

In her Miss Universe bio, it is stated that Miss Switzerland saved a child's life by scooping him from drowning. While the other contestants are busy travelling the world or finding out about cultures, Dominique made an impact by actually saving a life because of her intuition and swimming skills.

One of Dominique's lighter hobbies is collecting lip balms, and it shows with her soft lips and perfect pout. The Swiss stunner also likes sailing during her free time to enjoy the breathtaking sights in her home country.

Find out if Dominique Rinderknecht will make history as the first short-haired Miss Universe in this year's coronation night, which happens on November 9 in Moscow's Crocus City Hall.
