Martina Hingis Questioned by Swiss Police After Alleged Husband Assault

Martina Hingis, five-time Grand Slam champion, has been questioned by Swiss police after her estranged husband told authorities he was assaulted by Hingis and her family.

"The three individuals cited in the complaint were questioned last week, and we prepared a report which was transferred to justice authorities," police spokesman told AFP.

Thibault Hutin filed a complaint in September against Hingis claiming that she, her mother Melanie Molitor and boyfriend Mario Widmer, beated and scratched him.

"Widmer struck him in the head with a DVD player after he tried to defend himself" the spokesman said.

Hutin fled to Paris after the attack and allegedly received a threatening message saying they were going to "send the Russians after him".

Hingis and Hutin separated at the beginning of this year after reportedly have had an unstable relationship.
