Gal Godot Revealed As Wonder Woman in New Zack Snyder Film

Finally, a Wonder Woman is set to grace the big screen! Israeli model and actress Gal Gadot bagged the plum role as the fierce, fighting Amazon in the upcoming Zack Snyder film. The 28-year-old actress is better known for her role in the last three Fast and the Furious films as Gisele Harabo, a driving expert who's "not afraid to throw down." She also took supporting parts in Knight and Day with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz and Date Night with Steve Carell and Tina Fey.

The powerful superhero is causing buzz as she will be shown alongside Superman, played by Henry Cavill, and Batman, played by Ben Affleck. Snyder had this to say about the Israeli beauty in a Warner Brothers press release: "Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character."

Gadot looks to be the perfect candidate for the super hero as, according to ABC News, she has both served in the Israeli Army and participated in beauty pageants-the seamless combination of good looks and gristly skills. Godot served her mandatory military service at 20 years old as a sports trainer, all through which she remained working as a model. In 2004, at 19, she won the title of Miss Israel and went on to be the country's representative in the Miss Universe competition in which she failed to place in the top 15 percentile.

There is no doubt that the actress will find her background a major asset in playing the role of the beloved heroine. The Batman/Superman movie is set to start principal photography early 2014 and will bring back Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane in their roles in the Superman franchise.
