Iranian Man Shocks World After Going More Than 60 Years Without Taking a Bath

A man that lives in the south of Iran has lived for the last 60 years without taking a bath or shower. The story, reported this week by the Islamic Republic News Agency (Irna), has gone viral, and has left the Internet community in awe, and a little bit grossed out by the details.

His name is Amoo Hadji, he is 80 years old, and he lives a very primitive and basic life. He sleeps in a small cement cottage, more similar to a small cave than an actual house, built by the villagers of Denzhgah, in the Dehram district of Fars province, near the area where Hadji has 'set up camp' to live his bath-less life.

Apart from the dirt, that forms thick layers of crust on his beard, skin, and makes it difficult to even find his eyes, the man is also known in the region for smoking his pipe... which is filled with feces from animals that graze in the region near his cottage. The pipe, his clothes and a helmet he has to keep him warm, are his only, and 'most', prized possessions.

Hadji also likes to smoke regular tobacco, mainly during the times of low temperatures, but he doesn't do it how everybody does. He likes to smoke several at the same time so he can, according to himself, 'feel warmer'. This is done, of course, while he wears his helmet.

According to the news report by Irna, Hadji feeds on small animals, which he just finds after they're dead, and he cooks them on a bonfire outside his home. Apart from that, he just likes to sit, rest, and take naps during the day on a hole in the ground. Nobody knows why the man has opted pfor this strange, and filthy, simple life.
