Google got Nest for $3.2 billion

Nest Labs Inc. is now part of Google for $ 3.2 billion as announced last Monday.

The Nest Lab Inc, maker of the Learning Thermostat and the Protect smoke and carbon monoxide detector will still be under the supervision of the CEO Tony Fadell.

In a blog posted by Fadell, he explained the reason for partnering with Google.

"Google will help us fully realize our vision of the conscious home and allow us to change the world faster than we ever could if we continued to go it alone. We've had great momentum, but this is a rocket ship. Google has the business resources, global scale, and platform reach to accelerate Nest growth across hardware, software, and services for the home globally."

Also, he mentioned in his blog that he had been meeting with Google or the past years, and even before the company launch. Rumors spread that Google is already making its own "smart thermostat".

Mr. Fadell said that Google has always been keen on what they were doing. He also mentioned that Google thought they have crazy ideas in which giant company love the most.

Fadell and co-Founder Matt Rogers are both from Apple giving them reason to offer the company to them but opt to. Fadell said that Google Founder Sergey Brin and the Google team understand instantly their roles when they had the Nest demo last 2011.

According to Cisco presentation, there will be $14.4 trillion opportunities around the internet for next decade and the fact the Google can offer great opportunities for the Nest product to be introduced and presented to a wide range of customers is already a good reason to be its partner.

Fadell was the head of Apple music division in the year 2008 until he left for Nest.

Google said to deliver the cash to Nest for the next few months. This is not the first acquisition of Google. Its biggest acquisition was with Motorola Phone firm in the year 2011.
