Olivia Newton-John Dies at 65: Singer-Actress Confirmed Dead According to Circulating Report

Olivia Newton-John is dead. At least that's what a circulating report claims. Many fans who stumbled upon the report quickly reacted to the actress-singer's alleged death, sending out their sentiments to her family and friends. But it was found out later on that the report was just another one of those celebrity death hoaxes victimizing famous celebs and personalities.

According to the circulating report published by Global Associated News, British-born Australian singer-actress Olivia Newton-John died today at approximately 4:30 a.m. in New Zealand.

The report was made believable by several statements such as the claim that Newton was doing a new project in New Zealand when she accidentally fell more than 60 feet on the Kauri Cliffs.

The death hoax even insisted that preliminary reports from New Zealand Police officials confirmed the passing of Olivia Newton-John.

Additionally, Global Associated News cited that New Zealand has become a popular destination for Hollywood films and projects lately. Movies that were filmed in the said country include 'The Lord of the Rings,' 'The Chronicles of Narnia,' and 'King Kong.'

Because of the realistic approach of the site in terms of delivering the said news about the singer-actress, many shared the page to social media, which rapidly spread the false report.

Meanwhile, some became very skeptical of the report since it is not uncommon for celebrity death hoaxes to pop out every now and then. They pointed out that a note at the bottom of the page reveals the false nature of the report.

The note reads: "THIS STORY IS 100% FAKE! this is an entertainment website, and this is a totally fake article based on zero truth and is a complete work of fiction for entertainment purposes! this story was dynamically generated using a generic 'template' and is not factual. Any reference to specific individuals has been 100% fabricated by web site visitors who have created fake stories by entering a name into a blank 'non-specific' template for the purpose of entertainment."

As of late, Olivia Newton-John or her reps are yet to respond to the issue. But it's clear that the 65-year-old is the latest victim of the death hoax mill.

Other stars who reportedly died according to these circulating hoaxes include: Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, woody Harrelson, Carrie Underwood, and the most recent was 'Gangnam Style' singer PSY.
