An Irish Plumber Meets Muhammad Ali

A plumber from Louisville knocked on Muhammad Ali's door after hearing that his favorite boxer lives across the street.

Tony Kelly, a plumber from Louisville, was working on Friday when his friends told him that the boxing champion lives across the street. The 24-year-old Irish, being a real fan, grab the opportunity to meet his favorite boxer.

According to Irish Independent news, Tony was repairing a burst pipe when he decided to checked on the house where Ali was living.

The plumber at first did not believe it but walked across the street and knocked on the door. Yolanda, Ali's wife opened the door and invite him inside the house to meet the boxer.

"I knocked on the door and Ali's wife Yolanda answered and I just asked would be possible for one of his greatest fans from Ireland to meet him."

To his surprise, Ali was sitting on the couch in the living room. It was also Ali's 72nd birthday.

"She said 'of course' and invited me in and there he was (Ali) sitting in the living room."

The boxer champion had been fighting Parkinson's disease for 30 years.

"I honestly thought it was a wind-up so it was a shock to meet Ali and his lovely wife. They were so pleasant. I told them I was from Donegal and now lived in Louisville," said Tony.

Tony had some pose with the "The greatest" while meeting him.

The plumber returned to the house where he was repairing pipe, honored, not to mention the photos he had with the boxing champion.

Muhammad Ali is a former American boxer considered as the greatest heavy weights in the boxing history.
