New York Knicks Rumors: Knicks Interested In Signing Danny Granger, Ben Gordon, Antawn Jamison

The New York Knicks stay put after the trade deadline, but that doesn't mean that they are ready to move forward with their current roster for the rest of the 2013-14 NBA season.

Reports indicated that the Knicks will look to sign impact players in hopes of improving their chances of advancing to the playoffs this season.

The Knicks recently waived Beno Udrih and Metta World Peace to create roster space, supporting earlier reports that they are planning to sign new players in the coming days.

According to NY Post insider Marc Berman, the Knicks are leaning towards signing players from the D-League like Ike Diogu in hopes of finding a player who can play a major role for the team in the future, but they are also considering adding veteran pieces.

Sources indicated that veteran small forward Danny Granger is on top of the Knicks' wishlist. The Knicks will reportedly make a strong push to sign Granger if the Philadelphia 76ers decide to release the former All-Star.

Granger, who is averaging 8.3 points and 3.6 rebounds per game this season, was acquired by the 76ers in a trade-deadline deal that sent Evan Turner to the Indiana Pacers.

"The Knicks could decide to sign a younger D-League player to develop for the future, but a veteran of intrigue is Danny Granger, should he be waived by the 76ers," Berman noted.

The Knicks are also expected to pursue free agent veterans who were recently bought out by their respective teams, including Ben Gordon, Earl Clark, and Antawn Jamison.

"The Knicks also will have interest in proven veterans who were recently bought out, including Earl Clark, Ben Gordon and Antawn Jamison," Berman added.

Adding Gordon would give the Knicks additional scoring threat, while Clark and Jamison could provide depth to the Knicks frontline, which has been hit by injuries all-season long.

It remains to be seen how Gordon will fit into the Knicks guard rotation, which includes rookie guard Tim Hardaway Jr. along with veterans J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert.

Berman also added that Gordon and Jamison could snub the Knicks, considering the fact that both veterans are looking for a team who can strongly contend for a title this season.
