Microsoft Launching Mobile Personal Assistant “Cortana” Against Rival Apple Siri And Google Now

Microsoft has revealed its newest released product for the mobile app market,launching their own mobile personal assistant called "Cortana", in hopes to compete with their rival companies Apple Siri and Google Now.

The new personal digital assistant from Microsoft reacts to on-time conversational commands and requests, with the use of data collected from contacts, online searches, calendars and other information on the device. Microsoft's Cortana provides actual response and aide through mobile devices.

"Cortana is the first truly personal digital assistant who learns about me, and the things that matter to me most, and knows about the whole Internet," the Microsoft Phone Vice-President Joe Belfiore said in a presentation,

Voice and character recognition was based on the popular Microsoft game console, the Xbox. It uses artificial intelligence that will be important for the system to provide its features to mobile devices. The first release of Cortana will still be on its test phase and will be used alongside Windows Phone 8.1.

It has been a long anticipated wait for a competitor to finally come out against the Apple Siri and Google Now. This move from the tech giant, Microsoft, comes with their announcement that they will be giving out the mobile Windows operating system for free. Mobile device manufacturers can now install the Windows Phone 8.1 to their smartphones and tablet at no cost.

Microsoft will be releasing their Windows Phone 8.1 on mobile devices, and will start distribution in the United States this coming May of this year.

Microsoft has been making waves recently on the technology industry with its latest release of products and promos enticing new consumers to use their products. The company is ready to take on new risk with the leadership of their new CEO Satya Nadella. They believe that Microsoft value will still go up on the following months to come.
