MLB 14 The Show PS4 Release Date and Rumors: ‘Dynamic Difficulty’ Earning Positive Reviews, Gameplay Features Shown In New Trailer

The next-generation edition of the "MLB 14: The Show" will be released next week, May 6, and this early, we are already having a glimpse into what gamers should expect from the highly-anticipated game.

Surely, it is not as big or as celebrated as the NBA 2K14, but "MLB 14: The Show" is packed with interesting features, which we believe is enough to entice gamers.

One of the most praised feature of the newest baseball game is the "Dynamic Difficulty" - a feature that changes the difficulty level every half-inning depending on the players' accumulated stats.

According to John Mercer of The Telegram, this features allow gamers to grow with the game, especially those who are still unfamiliar with its mechanics.

With the new feature, which allows gamers to gradually experience the depth of gameplay, will prevent beginners from being overwhelmed, and possibly losing their interest in the game.

"The biggest of these twists is the implementation of a new 'dynamic difficulty' system," Mercer wrote. "Essentially, players start out in a simpler rookie setting, but are judged every half-inning of play based on the stats they accrue. And it is not simply a case of the game becoming more difficult, more like a case of a child discovering that they can swim deeper and deeper."

Aside from the "dynamic difficulty" system, next-gen gamers should also look forward to the Quick Counts and Player Lock modes, which allows one game to be finished in as little as 30 minutes.

The Player Lock features simply allows user to control a single player, while Quick Counts was best described by GameZone below:

"Quick Count speeds up the game by using an algorithm to create a generated pitch count. With this feature enabled, every at bat will start in either middle or late counts: 1-1, 2-1, 3-1, 0-2, 1-2, 2-2, and 3-1. The pitcher/batter attribute matchup will have an influence on the type of pitch down it sims to."

According to GameZone, MLB 14 The Show will offer at least 40 new gameplay features, including dynamic cameras and dynamic field markings. Below is the new trailer, via IGN, showing the new features and enhancements.
