Why 'Community' Got Cancelled & Find Out Other Shows That Got Axed by Networks

"Community" has not escaped death like how it managed to stay alive for the past five seasons. This Friday is absolutely the worst day for TV show fans, as news about cancelled and renewed shows start running amuck the Internet. Sadly, one of the casualties is no other than the cult-hit NBC comedy "Community."

According to Deadline, "Community" has not cheat death this Friday and a renewal for another season is now a far-off dream for its cast and crew.

While NBC's buzzy new show "The Blacklist" is getting all the attention from TV show fanatics, the presumption that the fifth season for the cult-hit series has suddenly become a reality.

For its loyal followers, Community's fifth season was a fitting last chapter to the show since creator Dan Harmon returned to take the helm.

NBC's comedy series started to suffer from significant loss of viewers' ratings last fall. Sources say the show didn't really get the following it needed in Season 5, but a cumulative rating that is somewhere close its Season 4's average.

Community averaged a 1.5 rating in adults 18-49, which is down by 0.1 from last season's scores. Nevertheless, it's obvious that it gained a boost in its viewership, from 3.5 million last season to 3.7 million this season.

To be exact, Community even outrated other returning shows such as "Parks and Recreation."
