NBA Trade Rumors 2014: Indiana Pacers Could Trade For Rajon Rondo, Zach Randolph Nears Extension With Memphis Grizzlies

Rajon Rondo is expected to be mentioned in several trade talks this summer similar to what happened before this season's trade deadline in February.

Rondo was previously linked the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics, but another team could get into the picture this summer, especially if they fail to win the title this year.

According to NBA analyst Chuck Myron, the Indiana Pacers, who are currently facing a 3-1 deficit in the ongoing Eastern Conference finals against the Miami, could emerge as one of the most likely landing spot for Rondo.

However, acquiring the All-Star point guard will be easier said than done for the Pacers. According to Myron, the Pacers might be forced to give up assets, including David West along with Lance Stephenson via a sign-and-trade deal.

"I think it's always possible the Pacers could get Rondo, but it might take giving up Stephenson in a sign-and-trade along with David West, whom the Celtics wanted to sign after the lockout. That's just my speculation, of course, but I think that's what the C's would demand," Myron noted.

However, the Pacers will need Stephenson's cooperation in a sign-and-trade deal because the 23-year-old guard will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Meanwhile, Zach Randolph, who is also expected to become a subject of trade rumors this offseason might not be moved at all as reports indicated that Memphis Grizzlies is preparing a contract extension for the All-Star forward.

Randolph, who could also become a free agent this summer by turning a $16.5 million player option for next season, is reportedly in deep talks for a long-term extension.

According to Yahoo Sports, interim general manager Chris Wallace is still high on Randolph, who has expressed desire to finish his career with the Grizzlies.

"We have a great level of comfort and trust with Robert Pera and Chris Wallace," Randolph's agent, Robert Brothers said. "Chris and I have been working together for years. He is a good guy."

Randolph, who has spent the last five seasons in Memphis, averaged 17.4 points to go along with 10.1 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game this season.
