Michael Sam's boyfriend and the first openly gay NFL player are done concealing their romance from the public since Sam's brave gesture to come out in February 2014 in an interview on ESPN's "Outside The Lines," Entertainment Wise has learned.
Last night, Michael Sam's boyfriend Vito Cammisano and the defensive end for the St. Louis Rams stepped out to show their love and support for each other at the 2014 ESPYs.
The lovers even walked the red carpet while holding each other's hands - their first romantic appearance since their televised kiss after Michael Sam got drafted.
Michael Sam's boyfriend and the NFL player have reportedly known each other back in Missouri, where Sam played football and Cammisano engaged into swimming, according to Larry Brown Post.
Now, apart from showing off his love for his boyfriend at the ESPYs red carpet, Michael Sam also moved a lot of the people present at the event when he delivered a touching speech after being presented with the Arthur Ashe Award for courage by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
The first openly gay NFL player in history made many eyes at the event wet when he emotionally quoted Ashe's words of wisdom: "Start where you are. Use what you have and do what you can."
Sam then resumed by saying, "Those were words to live by. Whether you're white or black. Young or old. Straight or gay."
Sam noticeably fought tears when he recounted an anecdote of a gay woman who had recently told him that she never again considered committing suicide after Sam came out as gay.
"To anyone out there, especially young people feeling like you don't fit in, or are not accepted, great things can happen when you have the courage to be yourself," he gushed.

Michael Sam's boyfriend Vito Cammisano, 23, is said to be a former University of Missouri swimmer, who came out as gay in 2011, according to Queerty.
Cammisano was reportedly scrutinized that time he revealed his sexuality, but was later on very much accepted since Michael Sam revealed that he is his boyfriend.
The romance between Michael Sam's boyfriend and the footballer reportedly started in their University days and they have managed to conceal it from the public for many years prior to Sam's revelation.
