Does Scott Weiland needs a harsher jail sentence after being arrested again?
Scott Weiland is known for his flamboyant and chaotic stage persona. And some reports said that he has gone back to his old days after being busted in Beverly Hills. Harsher jail sentences might be appropriately needed by the rock star this time.
Scott Weiland is an American vocalist, lyricist and musician. Having a career that spanned for over three decades, Scott Weiland is made famous by being the former front man of the successful rock band Stone Temple Pilots and the super group Velvet Revolver for five years.
Since 1995, Scott Weiland has established himself as a solo artist, releasing three studio albums, a cover album and several collaborations with various musicians. But now it seems that our bad boy rocker is back on doing his old tricks resulting to an arrest. Are harsher jail sentences now needed for the musician?
According to the authorities, the former Stone Temple Pilots front man Scott Weiland was arrested in Beverly Hills after they received a call reporting a shoplift. The authorities searched the area and eventually picked up Scott Weiland and took him into custody for burglary and felony possession of a controlled substance.
TMZ reported that the controlled substance found in Scott Weiland's possession was methamphetamine together with stolen items like razor blades and other cosmetics he stole from the store. However the theft charge was overshadowed a little by his major drug charge.
The authorities were not impressed when rock star Scott Weiland pulled his celebrity card and was incarcerated with a $20,000 bail. Based on his past records, Scott Weiland has a long list of drug-related charges. In 1995, he was convicted for purchasing cocaine thus having his first run-in with law. He scored a year of probation which Scott Weiland promptly violated resulting to a year-long jail sentence. But he ended up serving only five months.
Scott Weiland then wrecked a car while driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol in 2003. A rehab stint took all the charges to be dismissed however it was followed by another rehab act after committing the same offense in 2007.
Now, after being busted again, Scott Weiland is expected to face jail sentences again. Does he really need a harsher jail time to change? Let's really hope not.
