Mariah Carey’s Marriage End: Nick Cannon Confirms Split

Following the rumors that have been spreading against music icon Mariah Carey's marriage, husband Nick Cannon finally speaks up and confirms the split.

In an interview, Nick Cannon admitted that there has been trouble in paradise and that he and Mariah Carey have been living separately for a few months. Rumors say that the cause of the break up was due to Nick Cannon's infidelity but he simply denied the allegations. Nick Cannon then added in a report that his main focus right now is his kids.

Mariah Carey married Nick Cannon in 2008 in the Bahamas after dating for six weeks. The ex-couple has two kids; their fraternal twins aged three years old named Monroe and Moroccan.

After Nick Cannon's confirmation about the split, news broke out that he is largely been silenced by his wife. According to TMZ, the ex-couple's legal team struck up a confidentiality agreement, which prohibits him from sharing details of their separation. The repercussion of which is facing severe monetary penalties. Sources have reported that Mariah Carey has retained the rights to announce the split on their own terms.

In the intervening time, following Nick Cannon's admission TMZ reported that Mariah Carey was furious after her estranged husband, the America's Got Talent host Nick Cannon revealed a list of five celebrities he had slept with during a candid radio program interview. Mariah Carey was reportedly humiliated upon hearing his husband's revelation of the first time they slept together.

According to a gossip website, the couple is reported to have separated back in May and have been secretly drawing out property settlement and custody agreement over their twins with their respective legal counsel team. Reports said that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's marriage started having a fall out in March after retelling his brief 2006 romance to Kim Kardashian in an interview.

Following the marital chaos between Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, reports said that they are feuding over their four lavish properties in New York, Aspen, Los Angeles and Windermere Island. The ex-couple also shares a $5 million private jet and a convoy of cars including a $400,000 Lamborghini. Sources also said that Mariah Carey had several closed door meetings with divorce lawyers. Nick Cannon is believed to be interested in the singer's $500 million fortune and would want generous visitation rights to their twins.

Aside from their separation, Nick Cannon will soon reprise his role on the movie "Drumline 2: A New Beat." While Mariah Carey kicks off her 11-date fall tour "the Elusive Chanteuse Show" in Tokyo this October.

With the heightened controversies and rumors that surrounded Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's split, fans are now patiently waiting for the bombastic confirmation of Mariah Carey.
